Dear Members, Patrons, Artists and Friends,
As 2010 draws to a close, I am heartened to share that the FVAC has endured the downturn that has universally impacted not only the non-profit sector but our businesses and households. Our "Light on the Arts" still shines, thanks to the perseverance and resilience of our studio artists, the passion of our instructors and the devoted support of our patrons and volunteers. Together, we have affirmed our commitment to fostering the highest level of human creativity and initiative and refused to allow this remarkable place to be extinguished.
The large and diverse crowd of arts enthusiasts that gathered for our 34th annual Candlelight Opening in November is testament to the momentum we've achieved and our relevance as a destination for inspiration in the Farmington Valley.
After a period of rebirth, we're focusing on growth as our guiding mission in 2011, and your support will ensure our success. Thousands benefit from the FVAC's comprehensive assortment of arts-related programs and opportunities. Through partnerships and an infusion of new talent, we aim to reinvigorate programming and outreach to serve a broader audience, to pursue grants and stipends, and to expand and solidify our role in the regional arts community.
Our need for enhanced volunteerism and financial support is compelling, and there are many ways for you to lend your light to our endeavors at this critical juncture. As you reflect upon the value of the FVAC and the arts in your life, as well as on the organization's long legacy of connecting community members of all ages and abilities to the creative process, we hope you will consider contacting us about service opportunities and making a tax-deductible, year-end contribution.
