This holiday season, give gifts that are personal, thoughtful and one-of-a-kind! It’s easy when you register for one or all of the FVAC’s “Create a Holiday Gift” workshops, scheduled for Saturdays from noon until 2 p.m. The cost for each session is $20 if you pre-register by the Friday before, $25 at the door (plus materials fees payable at the workshop). No artistic experience is required.

TODAY: December 8: Star Books with Avis Turner
Create star-shaped, accordion-folded blank books that can be used as journals, sketchbooks, poetry notebooks, or photo albums. Embellish the covers with papers, paint, and mixed media supplies to create truly customized gifts.

$20 in advance/$25 at the door, plus $5 per book for materials

December 15: Hand-felted Wool Animal Sculptures with Elena Gibson
Learn how to form a posable, four-legged animal figure using the fascinating technique of needle felting. You’ll craft 3-1/2”-tall figures out of wool using a special barbed needle. Bring a picture of an animal or pet for reference. The creatures you create can be used as ornaments, table decor, or even a curious gift for the cat!
$20 in advance/$25 at the door, plus $15 per animal for materials
